I am 28 almost 29 Weeks!

I can't believe Thanksgiving is this week!  We will be staying local for Thanksgiving, which will give me some down time to work on some more baby craft projects!  I can't believe I'm in the phase of my life where everybody around me is having babies too!  It's just soo wonderful!

Baby Update:
I failed my glucose test...which means I have to do a secondary glucose test that lasts 3 hours long! Hopefully I won't have gestational diabetes.  If I do, then we will cross that bridge.  For now, I'm trying to focus my attention on doing a little exercise everyday, eating right and reading to keep my mind off of worrying.  Little baby Kim is kicking up a storm, the weirdest feeling is when he completely shifts around, it feels so weird!

Family Update:
Lucy, our three year old puppy has been snuggling up on my lap next to my belly.  Sometimes, I wonder if she knows that the baby is coming.  Hopefully, the baby and Lucy will be good friends.

For the first time during this pregnancy, I had to ask someone at Costco to help me with my groceries. I debated whether or not to even grab a case of water during my shopping errand, and usually Larry and I go grocery shopping together...but I swallowed my pride and asked quite a few people for help:

  • First, I couldn't reach the blackberries in the giant refrigerator.  My belly was in the way and it was just too high for me to reach.  So I asked a mom with two kids if she would be so kind to reach the berries for me.  She was a great help!
  • Second, I needed a case of water.  I stared long and hard at the water until someone with a Costco namebadge walked by.  I asked him nicely if he could help me load the water on my cart and he was just soo friendly!  He even told me that when I checkout, someone can help me to the car.
  • Third, one of the "carry out" folks helped me to the car and even pushed my cart for me.  He nicely lifted the water into my trunk, where it still waits for Larry to come home and unload it.
I'm not one to ask for help, actually, I'm rather stubborn about it; but, I realize that my safety and the babies safety are super important.  I can still be a strong independent woman, asking for help doesn't make me weak, it makes me smart and sensible.

Baby Update!

  Pregnancy Ticker

Close up of soon to be Mr. BABY Kim!  This is from our 18 Week appointment.  We found out that our baby is a BOY!  Boy oh boy are we excited.  Both Larry and I are happy that baby and mommy are doing well no major health concerns and are on par with our February 12, 2014 due date.

A couple of friends asked me if I had any idea whether it was boy or a girl.  Based on my "cravings" or lack there of...and just my instincts, I had a little feeling it was a boy.  I'm mostly craving fruits and veggies, which isn't exciting as pickles and ice cream.

Big thanks to my mom, for taking this family photo of us!  We are using it for our Holiday card.

I am officially in my third trimester!  I can't believe I am 65% of the way through my pregnancy!  I'm feeling great and am starting to nest and get ready for our little boy to join us.  Larry has been the best partner throughout this whole process!  He's Mr. Dad already, making dinner, doing dishes, doing laundry and taking care of me.

We haven't picked a name yet...but there's been plenty of discussion!

I recently had dinner with some old friends!  I grew up swimming with Amy & Carly.  We are all pregnant and due within weeks/months of each other!  I can't wait to take our little ones swimming together.

So good to catch up with old friends and to connect with some other women who are going through the same process as me.  Plenty of baby discussion being had at this dinner!

New Kimchee Adventure

Our new adventure has begun!  I found out a week ago that I'm pregnant!  Excitement and joy flooded through my veins when I saw the + sign on the pregnancy test.  I've taken pregnancy tests before and they've all been negative, so the first time you see that + sign is the most crazy exiting experience I think anybody could feel.  Unless it's something that you're not expecting....

My first doctor's appointment will be July 1st.  Can't wait to find out more details and to see how things are progressing.  So far I've starting reading up on websites like The Bump and Baby Center, which also has an app for the iphone!

Larry is super calm, doesn't want to get too excited because it is too early to tell, but deep down inside, I know he's excited.  He's been doing all this research on what I can and can't eat, what I should be eating and what we should be doing during the first trimester.

More details to come as we embark on this exciting adventure...

Love, Genie Kimchee
