Time to Nest!!

Larry and I are nesting!  Not for any particular reason...just to clean up the house a bit and to make room for all of our new wedding gifts!  We tried not to put too many things on our wedding registry, since we already have a lot of housewares, in fact one of our gift options was to donate to a charity.

Things on our to do list:
  1. Change out the carpet in the bedrooms
  2. Build a kitchen island
  3. Create some functional built in's
  4. Revamp the office
  5. Revamp the guest room
  6. Update the bathrooms
I'll try to post our DIY projects and progress!  Yey for being married!

Wedded Bliss

I am writing from our honeymoon in Costa Rica!! Now that the wedding has come and gone, I find myself saddened that I don't have any pending craft projects or deadlines for the big day! Crazy right? I've heard that this is common for most couples who were heavily involved with planning their weddings. I look at pinterest now and say, "I can't look at the wedding tab anymore." But what I can do is continue to use my creative thought process and help otherS plan their fun parties and continue to have some fun themed parties in the future. I'm pretty sure babies will be coming in the next two years or so and then my crafty creativity will be in full force. As much fun as it was planning our wedding there was a lot of people who put their blood sweat and tears into making our day so fantastic. Without each and everyone of our friends and family we would not have had the beautiful wedding we did. Cannot wait to share photos when we get back!

9 Days....

Oh my!  We only have 9 days to go!!!  I had a mini anxiety attack two nights ago, but i think it was just the initial shock of how close the wedding is.  Patches my Dalmatian was able to calm me down...his calming presence always helps me, I LOVE PET THERAPY!

Things I've decided not to do to reduce my stress:
  1. Stop looking at Pinterest. I love pinterest and all of the ideas you can get from it, but at this point if I don't have it done now, there is no way I'm going to start any new projects now.
  2. Drink a lot of water...I tend to stop drinking fluids when I get stressed.
  3. Focus on the task at hand and try not to do too much forward thinking.
  4. Breathe...
  5. Laugh...
  6. Enjoy every moment!

Peonies!!!

I spoke with Wendy our good friend and florist today! The Peonies have been ordered and are being shipped from a grower in Vermont! I thought it was crazy that one of my moms friends ordered Peonies from Holland for her Daughters wedding. Can't believe that my favorite flowers are being shipped from the East Coast.

So excited!! So thankful for Wendy and her amazing research skills and her knack for networking. This is where we ordered the flowers from and they had a great deal on flowers: http://www.thirdbranch.com/pages/contact.htm

Hope this helps other brides who want peonies for their June weddings!

Time Crunch

We have 16 days left until the wedding.

I'm feeling good! Trying to manage a good skin care regimen, booked my spa care treatments leading up to the wedding, updated my to do list.

Larry bought me this awesome spa pass for a local spa in town for $50 back in November. It covers 3 different visits hair cut, facial and massage and all you have to do is pay gratuity. So stoked to cash in on this deal. I even upgraded for $10-20 extra dollars for the deluxe treatments. I think scheduling these blocks of relaxation are important for the bride. I know I would never take a break if these things weren't scheduled. Looking forward to relaxation those days leading up to the wedding.

My mom flys in this afternoon. I'm going to try my best not to turn into a monster and stress out. For some reason I tend to get more stressed when people try to help or ask me for things to do. Can't you read my mind people? Hahaha.... My mantra, "it's going to be fine. Don't worry about it. You can help me work on this..."

That's all for now!

Suits, spreadsheets, and details!

Let me start by saying "wholly cow we only have 23 days left until the big day!"

As I let out a big sigh of relief, I feel the need to list all the things we (our team of wedding gnomes) have accomplished.

1. Venue Rental
2. Food/catering
3. Clothing (dresses, suits, shirts, ties, shoes)
4. Essential supplies (thanks to my mom for finding plates and silverware on Craigslist)
5. Decor (big thanks to friends and family for helping me accumulate all of my decor items throughout this year!)
6. Officiant
7. Day of coordinator!
8. Flowers
9. Party Favors
10. Rings!!
11. Marriage License

As long as we have all of the above, we can get married! Doing my best to let go of the little things and to look at the big picture.

I am so grateful for Larry's active participation, leadership and love. I feel like many couples are at each others throats during this process. The only advice I give to others is to communicate your wants and needs and to be clear with each other. You can't read each others minds. I am a very visual person and have a creative vision of how I want things to look. If I don't draw or show people what I'm talking about then nobody would ever know what I'm imagining.

For Larry the food was the most important. He wanted the food to be top notch and that was important to me too. So we decided to go all in and hire our friend Chef Rick to cater our wedding. I am soo excited for the food!

As I close this post, I'm left feeling positive, excited and rejuvenated in this planning process! It's all about perspective!

Love,
